GReco ISLANDS is a national initiative with a goal of Environmental Impact Reduction, Enhancing RES penetration in Non-Interconnected Islands and Saving Electricity Costs

Chalki is the first island of the GR-eco Islands national initiative, a model for the other non-interconnected islands. The green energy transition is to be accomplished, with investments in RES, savings, electricity, and telecommunications.

The project aims to creation of an Energy Community with members of the Municipality of Chalki and the inhabitants of the island, and also the remote connection of a power generation system with multiple energy meters (Virtual Net Metering)
